Photomanipulation in Adobe Fireworks CS4

amazing manip

Photomanipulation is the use of different imaging techniques in order to create a different image ( improvement, illusion , alteration) by digital means. People often regard to Photoshop as the main “photomanip tool ” but however, we can use other programs like GIMP , Corel Photopaint , Paintshop Pro and even Adobe Fireworks CS4.

Before we discuss the photomanip , I would like to acknowledge the photographers who photographed the different pictures I used in this artwork, and for freedigitalphotos.net for hosting them.

First you need to visit a website that hosts free stock images , there are tons out there like freedigitalphotos.netĀ  , or if you have a lot of your own imagesĀ  it would be much better to use them.

Then decide on a theme and the pictures ( from different categories like nature, people , buildings etc ) that you will use. Some pictures or websites require you to inform or the acknowledge the pics that you will use, so its best to use one site just like what I did , and use the different pictures in their list there. Post a link to their website or just mention the photographers or the individual links of the photos

Cropping , is the most important technique in this photomanipulation. Most of the techniques I did in the image above was just using the bitmap tools , marquee, lasso or the magic wand tool. So crop images one by one before you arrange them all together. I will post another guide for cropping images when I have some free time.

And lastly is patience, a good photomanipulation requires a lot of patience. It could last for a few minutes to several hours. Take things slowly and be creative, anything is possible.
