Swee – Fireworkszone Wallpaper Contest
The swee wallpaper is my official entry to the fireworkszone wallpaper contest for Adobe Fireworks which ended last december 1 , the judging of winners will be announced by mid december.

It was one of the longest projects that I had to make in Adobe Fireworks, it took me more than a week to finish this wallpaper.
All the objects in the wallpaper are editable vectors ( I did not use any external images in the design ) but only for the text since the contest rules requires to convert the text to paths. I converted some to paths but I flattened the other text to bitmaps.
The idea for the wallpaper was to show a designer/developer’s desktop and the project he is doing. Swee is a fictional website to gather artists all over the globe together, think of it as a facebook for artists.
The first part was creating the samsung jet phone. It is my current cellphone and it has cool features that the iphone doesn’t have. I have an iphone too but its bricked now , so I chose the jet =) I have never designed a realistic looking phone with this detail before so this would be my first. I added some fancy designs to the phone’s wallpaper as well. This was one of the hardest things to make in the wallpaper , on par with the fireworks website mockup.
Next would be the pencil , it wasn’t really that hard to make since it is only composed of a few vectors.
Third would be the business card design. Normally , people use photoshop or illustrator to design business cards , since when we talk of print design, we talk of print colors like cmyk , pantone which fireworks doesn’t support. It is possible to design a fireworks business card if you don’t mind the color differentation once it’s printed , my advice would be to use solid colors if ever you use fireworks.
Fourth is the apple mighty mouse , I took reference from the official apple site , they have tons of pics of the mouse there so I just tried to pick one and create a vector version.
Fifth would be the usb, it’s not that special and It took me a few minutes to finish it.
Sixth would be the coffee cup and coffee stained notes. The coffee cup was really cool , i also added some bubbles and a heart inside. The
yellow notes are not difficult to make, it’s just a rectangle with a feathered shadow and some stains that i drawn using the pen tool. You can try download some free handwritten fonts in dafont. I’ll be planning to make a video tutorial about how I made the coffee mug + notes by next week.
Last would be the fireworks web page mockup. The most difficult part would probably be creating the featured content, the shades of balance. The idea was to depict the two lens of the shades to be totally different from each other, one side is chaotic, and the other shows harmony. I also added this wicked light effect in the background which is so cool , which is similar to the header of my main site.
I hope I could win the contest , thanks to Adobe and Fireworkszone for sponsoring this contest.
