Creating A Night Scene in Adobe Fireworks 8

This was my first Adobe Fireworks tutorial for the Adobe Design Center two years ago. It teaches you to create starts, clouds and a shiny moon =) , too bad the Alien Skin Filters have been discountinued  on fireworks cs3 and cs4 , but I’ll do my best to make an updated version of this tutorial someday without using the Alien Skin filters.

Awesome tutorial, Angelo! I like the way you achieved great effects by using tools for purposes that they were not designed for ("Marble" for clouds, "Oil" for moonspots etc.). Good to see such out-of-the box thinking. ;-)

It's a pity that Alien Skin effects are no longer bundled with Fireworks. But at least they are still compatible. Have you tried the latest ones? Very useful stuff! :)

Xenofex and Eye Candy: Impact are pretty cool. What about you, which ones are your favorites? :)

I remembered using eyecandy before , it was so cool able to make smooth bevels and stuff, making it glow, but once I figured out how to make the effects myself, hehe I didnt need them. Xenofex creates lightning right?
